ONE OF THE MOST DELICIOUS DESSERTS OF ITALY: CANNOLI

MATERIALS
For the dough;
1 egg
1 cup of flour
2 tablespoons of sweet wine
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon grated orange peel

 

For the cheese filling;
200 grams of ricotta cheese or curd
4 tablespoons of powdered sugar
½ cup crushed pistachios

FABRICATION
Make a pool in the middle of the sifted flour.
Add all the dough ingredients into the pool you opened.
Knead until you get a firm dough. Wrap and rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
Tear off pieces from the dough you rested. Open it thin and round.
Heat the oil.
Wrap the round dough on metal sticks. Press the joints firmly and drop into the hot oil.
Fry until golden brown.
Take the fried dough on a paper towel and let it cool.
In another bowl, whisk together the cheese and powdered sugar. Fill into the cream tube.
When the dough has cooled, remove the metal rod.
Fill the dough with cheese cream.
Press both ends of the cream into the crushed pistachios.
